On January 28, 2014, Xingtai Dalian Airport project was approved.

On September 4, 2019, the "Feasibility Study Report" on Xingtai Airport Project for both military and civilian use was officially approved by the National Development and Reform Commission.

On July 2, 2020, the Cooperation Agreement on Entrusted Management of Xingtai Airport was signed between Hebei Airport Management Holding Co., Ltd and the People’s Government of Xingtai City, which officially included Xingtai Airport into the integrated management of Hebei Airport Management Holding.

On July 18, 2024, the Xingtai Airport officially opened.

The Airport is operating a Grade 4C flight zone; its runway is 2600 meters long and 60 meters wide; it is equipped with a 6-aircraft station site, a new terminal building of 6100 m2, a new control tower and an ATC building of 800 m2, and is designed with an annual capacity of 500,000 passenger trips and 1,300 tons cargo.
